About me
Melissa Toohey serves as the financial aid team manager at the University of South Florida Health in Tampa, Florida. She holds a master’s degree in business administration and a certificate of leadership in higher education. She joined the university in June of 2014 as a financial aid assistant where she advised the undergraduate and graduate student population, processed loans, and completed other administrative duties. In 2016 she was promoted to the financial aid services team administrator maintaining the front-end services and intake team on the main Tampa campus Office of Financial Aid. Seeing an opportunity to advance her skills, she applied for an opportunity and was promoted to the Bull2Bull Financial Education team in 2018. There she served as the team manager, having a team of seven peer financial educators responsible for providing financial literacy and financial wellness coaching and presentations to undergraduate students across the Tampa campus. A few years later, she would then go back to her financial aid roots and join the USF Health Office of Financial Aid in her current role where she serves in a financial aid and financial wellness role for the professional and graduate students at USF Health; maintaining the financial aid office in the downtown Tampa Morsani College of Medicine.
In her personal time, she loves to travel, spend time with her husband and family, and spend time with her two daughters Kasey and Emma as well as her grandson Jaxton.
