About me
James Chiara has worked within the Technical College System of Georgia since 2011, at four different colleges, and now at the system office in Atlanta. His prior roles have been financial aid advisor, financial aid systems coordinator, assistant director of financial aid, banner project specialist, and director of financial aid. He joined the system office as compliance coordinator in 2019, where he helped navigate all 22 colleges through internal and external audits, and navigate the HEERF madness of 2020 – 2022. Once that settled, he was tasked with launching a shared services group called client services within TCSG to take on financial aid processing at the colleges. As the client services manager, he has grown the processing group to 6 employees, assisting 10 colleges with daily financial aid processing tasks such as verification, ISIR loading and awarding, Pell processing and recon, withdrawals and return to title IV, satisfactory academic progress, direct loan processing and reconciliation, and state aid processing. Outside of work, his hobbies are music, cooking/baking, and video games.
